Two successive air raids targeting LTTE strong points

Sri Lanka Air Force MI-24 helicopters have carried out two air raids targeting LTTE strong points located in Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu areas this afternoon, 14 December.

Air Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, speaking to defence.lk said that MI-24 helicopter gun ships raided LTTE-built earth bund located 1Km northeast of Puthukkudiyirippukulam in Kilinochchi district around 3.45pm today. Air attack was launched in support of ground troops of 57 Division heading towards Kilinochchi.

Meanwhile, another air raid was launched targeting LTTE gathering point observed in general area Mulliyawalai in Mullaittivu district around 6.00 pm yesterday. The air attack was launched in support of troops of 59 Division advancing towards Mullaittivu.
