Troops intercepted a group of LTTE terrorists detected in general area Kanchikudiaru in Batticaloa this morning, 14 December.
According to the available sources the incident took place around 7.15 am.
In a subsequent search operation conducted in the area troops have found two bodies of LTTE terrorists along with military items including 381 anti-personnel mines, T-56 weapons and 16mm mortar weapons.
