Troops of the 59 Division mounted heavy attacks at LTTE positions in general area Kumulamunai, Mullaittivu as troops confirmed inflicting serious damages to LTTE, yesterday (Dec 22).
A terrorist was reported sniped in the same area on Monday morning at 7, security sources said. LTTE terrorists have suffered more damages during separate confrontations ensued with troops ahead of Kumulamunai defences throughout yesterday, according to the sources.
Meanwhile, troops of the TF -3, observing an LTTE movement in general area East Olumadu have directed heavy artillery causing terrorist to retreat with many casualties, ground sources said.
