SLAF fighter jets made successive air sorties at identified terror targets located in Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu districts since 6.30 this morning (Dec 22).
According to Air Force Spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara, 2 air raids were made at identified LTTE resistance positions, North and East of the Iaranamadu battlefront at 6.30a.m., and 8.20a.m., respectively.
The sorties were made in support of the advancing 57 Division troops, the Spokesperson said.
An LTTE craft beached North of the Mullaittivu lagoon was also confirmed destroyed in a separate air attack launched at around 7.10a.m., he further said.
